You’ve probably heard of ISO 9001 and 14001. But are you aware of ISO 45001 and ISO 50001?
Fundermax is proud to have all four of these certifications from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
It makes a different to our customers too and here’s why.
ISO certification is an industry standard today. When you see that a manufacturer has ISO 9001 and 14001 you know they have been audited by an independent, non-governmental international organization of experts supporting innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.
ISO 9001 helps put customers first. The widely recognized quality standard answers companies’ question of “how to improve the quality of their products and services and consistently meet their customers’ expectations.”
Meanwhile meeting ISO 14001 demonstrates practices to reduce environmental impact. Taken together the standards help a company such as Fundermax to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
For Fundermax it’s about being responsible with our resources, employees and the environment in everything we do. Values are important in everyday life. That’s why we’ve established an integrated management system that incorporates the 9001 and 14001 standards as well as ISO 50001 and ISO 45001.
ISO 45001 is a health-and-safety-certification that protects the people who work for Fundermax. According to the ISO it aims to ensure “people are safer and healthier” at work.
Addressing occupational health and safety (OH&S) also ensures that visitors and guests of the organization’s premises are safer too. This guidance enables “an organization to proactively improve its OH&S performance in preventing injury and ill-health.”
Our ISO 50001 standing, meanwhile, provides our customers with confidence that we are doing the best we can on energy management. The standard was developed, per the ISO, “for organizations committed to addressing their impact, conserving resources and improving the bottom line through efficient energy management.”
Adding 45001 and 50001 to our certifications demonstrates that quality products and sustainable manufacturing go hand in hand for Fundermax.
We’re honest when it comes to responding to questions about the environment, such as “where should clean energy come from?” We know that in energy production and industrial production there is always a compromise. Both generate by-products and have numerous effects. However, at Fundermax our aim is to minimize these effects on people and the environment through ongoing improvements, sustainable investment, consistent monitoring and cleaner processes.
Green energy is a key component of our sustainability focus:
Our ISO-certified management systems are constantly reviewed by internal and external experts to ensure a high standard of quality, environment, energy efficiency and occupational safety.
Fundermax aims to remain ahead of the curve regarding industry standards, environmental responsibility, worker safety and energy management.
“It’s already the right thing to be doing,” said Paul McCafferty, North American Technical Director. The certification just puts a label on the consistent way Fundermax has been operating for decades.
The customer’s voice is increasingly prominent in how business is done globally. Adhering to the rigorous standards of the ISO is one more way for Fundermax to uphold its company values and deliver better quality and service while supporting its customers and employees as well as the environment and our community.
